Difficulties Accessing The Exclusive Lord Of The Rings DVD ROM Website

Problem:
You receive an "access denied" error message, or a message prompting you to insert New Line's The Lord Of The Rings DVD in your drive, when attempting to access the exclusive website from the InterActual software on the disc.
 
Solution:
The exclusive online features for New Line's The Lord Of The Rings are only available to consumers that have this DVD movie. The website that has been set up with these features must have a way of confirming whether or not you actually have the disc in your drive. Since this confirmation process may be detected as a security risk by some privacy protection software and settings, it may not work properly if these types of features are running in a user's Windows system. In order to allow the website to display properly, the consumer is advised to temporarily modify the settings of the following in their system, if you have them:
  • Any locally running firewall software should be disabled when attempting to access the site.
  • Any ad-blocking software should also be disabled, since these impede the updating of "cookies" in a system, and the exclusive website for this DVD relies on a cookie to confirm that you have The Lord Of The Rings inserted in your drive.
  • Make sure that you have "cookies" enabled in your Internet Explorer browser's Internet Options panel. For Internet Explorer 6 users, this is controlled by a slider under the Privacy tab in this panel. For all other versions of Internet Explorer, this is found by clicking the "Custom Level" button under the Security tab in this panel.
  • Make sure your computer's clock and calendar are set for your current day and date. Most cookies expire after a certain period of time, and if your computer's calendar is off by a factor of months or years, the site will not load because it no longer thinks it has permission to do so.
