InterActual Technologies, Inc. reported that its industry
standard software for web-connected DVDs, InterActual Player, has
been utilized on all worldwide DVD versions of Star Wars: Episode
I -- The Phantom Menace.
InterActual Player provides Star War fans with an enhanced
interactive experience when the Episode I DVD is played in a DVD-ROM
PC. This experience includes access to exclusive online Star Wars
content that can be viewed with the Episode I DVD.
Starting tomorrow, Nov. 9th, Star Wars DVD fans can also use the
DVD to access a unique event that promises an exclusive internet
preview of the highly-anticipated Star Wars: Episode II -- Attack
of the Clones.
"InterActual technology will allow us to add on-going value to
the Episode I DVD experience for millions of fans with DVD-ROM
capable PCs," said Jim Ward, vice-president of Marketing for
Lucasfilm.
The InterActual Player software runs automatically when the DVD
is played in a DVD-ROM equipped PC, and provides a consistent
interface for users to enjoy the film and basic DVD features, both
offline and online. InterActual Player also enables Episode I
viewers to launch directly from the DVD to the special Star Wars
online community.
"We are pleased to offer InterActual's software and services for
use with one of the biggest and most anticipated DVD releases of the
year," said Todd Collart, president and CEO of InterActual.
"InterActual's software, by seamlessly combining the Internet with
